Singapore, Singapore

One of the defining features of this city is its fascinating blend of old and new. Unlike a typical city that is without rich vegetation, Singapore aspires to be a “City in a Garden,” and over 50% of the island is covered in greenery, from the city’s peaceful Botanical Gardens to monkey-filled forests. Furthermore, it is home to the world’s first nocturnal zoos. And to experience a little less nature, more city – you can find absolutely everything fashion has to offer at one of the legendary malls. Be sure to also visit the array of interesting cultural spots of the city, like Sri Mariamman Temple, Peranakan Museum and the Lau Pa Sat, a Victorian food market.

Lucky for all your foodies, Singapore is a city obsessed with food. The region’s unique Nonya cuisine is complemented by the exciting restaurant scene that reflects the city’s global status. Feast from the comforts of your home, at one of the markets, or indulge at one of the high-end restaurants. For a taste of Singapore at its finest, try the chicken rice, beautiful chili crab, colorful ice kacang or the fish-head curry, a unique dish which was formed from the cultural mix of the city.

Singapore weather is based on a tropical climate where days are generally sunny and seasons less distinct. Although rainfall is experienced at some point throughout the day, showers are sudden and heavy but more importantly, short-lived. The most rainfall spans from November until January but temperatures remain warm and balmy. If the heat is bothersome, many of the locals also dislike the intensity so you’ll find everywhere you go is air conditioned.
